Youth and Young Adults at Goodsoil

Youth and young adults are welcome to participate with Goodsoil at Churchwide Assembly. The following schedule is a rough guide for youth and young adult participation with the option for group input once we meet at the assembly. If you or any youth/young adult you know is interested in participating in the Churchwide Assembly with Goodsoil, please send an email to Dylan Flunker at dylanf@lcna.org for more information.

The following schedule is suggested and tentative. Youth and young adults can participate in other activities through Goodsoil as well. The final schedule will be finalized depending on the will of the participants.

Sunday August 16
1:00 pm – Help set up Goodsoil Central
4:00 pm – Graceful Engagement training
7:00 pm – Worship at Central Lutheran

Monday August 17
10:00 am – Goodsoil Registration
11:00 am – Introductions/Discussion of week schedule
12:00 pm – Blessing of the Prayer Shawls
1:00 pm – Lunch
2:00 pm – Graceful Engagement Training
4:00 pm – Opening worship with ELCA
5:30 pm – Dinner / Introductions / Discussion Time
7:00 pm – Plenary Session One
9:00 pm – Opening Goodsoil reception

Tuesday August 18
7:15 am – 9:00 am – Distribution of Resources
10:00 am – Prayer Shawl vigil in chapel
11:30 am – Holy Communion
12:30 pm – Lunch
1:30 pm – Yo/Ya Check-in meeting at Goodsoil Central
4:30 pm – ELCA Hearings
5:30 pm – Dinner/Discussion
8:30 pm – Goodsoil Educational Event and reception

Wednesday August 19
9:00 am – Worship set up at Central Lutheran Church
10:30 am – Discussion
12:30 pm – Lunch
2:00 pm – Shawl thank-you note writing
4:30 pm – Privileging Difference: A Framework for Understanding
Racism and Heterosexism workshop in Goodsoil Central
7:30 pm – Goodsoil worship and reception at Central Lutheran Church

Thursday August 20
8:30 am – Plenary Session if discussing sexuality
11:30 am – Lunch / Discussion
12:45 pm – Privileging Difference: A Panel of Witness to Racism
and Heterosexism
2:00 pm – Graceful Engagement in Plenary Hall
6:00 pm – Dinner
8:00 pm – “Come to the Table”

Friday August 21
